How to use Waho

1. Install the app

Waho is an Android app distributed through Google Play. Open the Play Store, search for Waho, and open the listing titled “Waho - Live Stream, Voice Chat” from Waho team. Tap Install.

Check the developer name before installing — short app names attract lookalikes. The full walkthrough, including what to check on the listing, is on the download page.

2. Set up your profile

Open the app and create an account. Your profile is what other people see beside your name in every room, stream and post, so it's worth two minutes of thought:

• Display name — pick something you’re happy for strangers to know you by. Not your full real name.
• Profile photo — the same logic. Check what’s in the background.
• Bio details — age, location and interests are all optional context. The less specific, the better.

3. Permissions worth getting right

Waho will ask for permissions as you use features, not all at once. Two matter:

4. Join your first voice room

Voice rooms are the centre of Waho, so start here. Open the room list and pick something that looks active.

1. Open a room. You join as a listener by default — you won’t suddenly be broadcasting.
2. Listen for a few minutes. Rooms have hosts, regulars and a rhythm; getting a feel for it first makes the rest easier.
3. Take a free seat when you want to speak. Rooms show which seats are open.
4. Use headphones. They prevent the room’s audio looping back into your microphone, which is the usual cause of echo.
5. Leave whenever you like — closing the room exits it.

5. Watch or host a live stream

Watching first is the low-stakes option: open any stream from the live list and you're in the audience, able to read the chat and send messages.

To host, use the go-live control, title your stream and start broadcasting. Android will ask for camera and microphone permission. Before the camera turns on, look at what's behind you — a door number, a school badge or a piece of post on the table is more identifying than most people expect.

6. Start a game

Games run inside voice rooms rather than in a separate section. Open the room's game control and pick Ludo or UMO. The conversation carries on while you play — that's the point of putting them there.

7. Message someone privately

Open a person's profile from a room, a stream or a Moments post and use the message control. You can send text, images and voice messages. See private chat.

8. Post to Moments

Moments is the feed. Open the tab, browse Square for public posts or Follow for people you follow, and use the post control to share your own. Assume posts are visible beyond your followers. More on the Moments page.

9. Understand gifts and spending

Waho's Play listing carries an In-app purchases label. That's mostly gifts — animated items you send to hosts and friends — plus avatar frames and decorations.

Before you send your first one, set purchase authentication in Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Settings → Authentication → Require authentication for purchases. It takes thirty seconds and prevents the most common category of regret. See the gifts page.

10. Stay safe

Waho is an open social app rated Mature 17+ on Google Play, with the content descriptors “Users Interact, Shares Location, In-App Purchases”. A short list of habits covers most of it:

• Don’t give out your full name, address, school, workplace or phone number.
• Don’t send money to people you’ve met in a room, whatever the reason given.
• Check photo and video backgrounds before posting or broadcasting.
• Use block and report controls rather than arguing with someone who’s a problem.
• Keep purchase authentication on, especially on a shared device.
